Next season, Lancashire hopes to run teams at:
under 11, under 13, under 15, under 17 and under 19.
Following our successful Lancashire taster sessions at Markland Hill and Fulwood, it is important for those players wishing to be considered for selection to attend the monthly training sessions with the county coach, Alan Clarkson, over the summer.
Selection will then be based upon several criteria which includes:
an assessement of the player's ability (hence the importance of attending the training);
the results of the Lancashire Junior Restricted tournament, in addition to other junior tournaments entered by the player.
The junior selection panel will select the teams. This panel will comprise of the team managers of the respective teams, the county coach and the Chair of LCBA.
In addition to the above training sessions, a junior county compete session will be held at Markland Hill Racquets Club every month whereby junior players are invited to play against other county hopefuls. A coach will be on hand to supervise these sessions, but they will aim to be relaxed, friendly matches.
The hope is to create an environment whereby all players are proud to be selected to play for Lancashire.
