53 young players from around the county attended an excellent Open Junior County session at Hopwood Hall College, Middleton today.
Age attendance:
U13 = 17
U15 = 20
U17 = 6
U19 = 10
Organised by Tony Kelly, the event brought together some of the top junior coaches in Lancashire, including Debbie Rigby, Dhanesh Malliyawadu, Yong Chen, Arif Mollah and Claire Edmundson - as well as Tony of course!
For one of the U13 girls, Pippa, who plays for the Rossendale Juniors, it was her first opportunity to see what a junior county training session was like.
"Pippa had a great time today," said Pippa's mum - herself a former junior county players. "She learnt lots and really enjoyed it."
We are hoping that this will be the first of a regular monthly training session for the juniors, held in different venues round the county to make them accessible for all
