Hoping to kick start the inter-league town competition, the Lancashire leagues were invited to a FREE badminton tournament at Markland Hill.
Playing men's singles, ladies' singles, mixed doubles, men's doubles and ladies' doubles - teams of between 4 and 6 players had a day's tournament at Markland Hill Racquets Club, Bolton.
In the morning session, Lancaster beat Blackpool in the final, with Rossendale (best dressed team!) in 3rd spot and Wigan in 4th.
In the afternoon session, MidLancs were pushed hard by Southport, narrowly coming out on top after winning the final mixed doubles. Blackburn came in 3rd spot and the Blackpool team that just kept playing and playing all day came in 4th spot.
Many thanks to all those leagues who took part in this inaugural event.
Of course, the biggest thanks must go to our committee members and volunteers, particularly Yunus, Graham and Claire who ran the event, assisted by Tracy, Joanne and Paul.
