As a previous recipient of the 'Birtwistle Award' for the Outstanding Lancashire Junior Player of the Year in 2009/10, 2010/11, 2011/12 and also 2012/13
Tom Wolfenden has been the latest Lancashire player who followed the route of
Junior Club, County and Country standard of play
and then went onto
Senior Club, County and Country standard of play
He has recently set up a Badminton Academy in Lancashire and will be following the aims of Lancashire County Badminton Association to help as many players as possible improve and enjoy their badminton
Tom is the current Lancashire County 1st Team Captain
The 1st Team were promoted in the 2023/24 season back into the elite Premiership Division
He will be ably assisted by Lizzie Tolman who is currently following the same Badminton journey as Tom
Lizzie followed the route of
Junior Club, County and Country standard of play
and is now on the route of
Senior Club, County and will hopefully gain her England cap very soon
