A Masters player is someone who is over the age of 40. At this age you become eligible to play in the County teams, divided into age groups of 5 year intervals up to and including 75+.
There are 2 annual competitions administered by Badminton England as follows:
Masters County Championship
This is run as a league across the season, consisting of 4-6 matches at home and away. We play in the Northern section in all age groups and the aim is to progress as winners to the Finals at the end of April.
The match format is Ladies, Open and Mixed Doubles.
All matches are played at Markland Hill Racquets Club in Bolton on Sundays, start time 12.30pm. A list of the home fixtures is shown below.
Masters County Challenge
This event takes place over one weekend in January and is held at various venues around the Country. At present all our first teams play in the Premier Divisions of this competition.
The match format is Ladies, Open and Mixed Doubles.
Lancashire Masters Silver Tournament
We also host this event that will be held over the weekend of February 1st & 2nd, 2025 at Markland Hill Racquets Club in Bolton. Again Ladies, Open and Mixed Doubles events are available across all the age groups.
